Biographical Information

Dr. Ann L. George received her Ph.D. in English from Pennsylvania State University in 1997. She also holds an M.F.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (1981) and a B.A. from Michigan State University (1979). A member of the TCU faculty since 1997, her areas of specialization include composition and rhetoric, cultural history, and Kenneth Burke studies.

Rhetorical Theory, American Rhetoric and Poetics of the 1930s, Composition Theory and Pedagogy, and the Rhetoric of Modern Warfare.

Points of Interest:

I examine archives of modern American writers, critics, and theorists to reconstruct the cultural scenes from which rhetorical theories emerge.
