Sigma Tau Delta is an honor society for English majors and minors. The group sponsors an initiation ceremony each year along with other events for English students. Members are also eligible to participate in national conferences and to compete for national scholarships.

The requirements for induction are (1) an overall 3.5 GPA and (2) 18 hours of English with no grade below a "B" in English. At least 9 of these hours must have been completed at TCU. The student may be currently enrolled in the final 3 hours of those required 9 TCU and 18 overall English hours. For students who qualify, the initiation fee is $37.
